Taking care of a pet is a huge responsibility and can be quite an imposition on a friend or relative. Most people are busy and may not be able to devote the time and attention your pet may require. We are bonded and insured for your peace of mind and we are equipped to handle an emergency should one arise. If your travel plans change we will be available to continue to care for your pet until you return.
Each situation is unique therefore we offer a wide variety of services including; daily dog walking, short term daytime pet sitting, overnight pet sitting and private cage free home boarding.
Yes. With the exception of an emergency, the pet sitter you meet at your introductory visit is the person who will be taking care of your pets. Should a substitute be necessary, they will also be an insured Daily Dog Walkers pet sitter.
All of the pet sitters at Daily Dog Walkers & Pet Sitters are individual business owners who set our own prices. Your pet sitter will discuss services and pricing at your initial consultation.
Your pet sitter will bring a copy of our service agreement. The information needed is as follows; personal contact information, emergency contact information, veterinarian name & number, pet(s) information, pet medical history, and security system codes. We will also need a key to your home and the names of anyone else who may be entering the home while we are caring for your pet.
For your security, keys are labeled with your pet’s name only, not your name, address, or phone number and kept in a secure location of your pet sitters home.
During an average visit the pet sitter provides fresh water for your dog and will feed if instructed to. They will take the dog for a walk, or let the dog out back for relief and exercise. At your introductory consultation you and your pet sitter will discuss the length of each visit and what services are to be provided.
In most cases we recommend three visits per day for a dog and one visit per day for a cat. Your pet sitter works with you to set up a schedule that is comfortable for you and your pet.
Please make sure you have left enough supplies such as pet food, cat litter, medications, and treats for your pet to last the duration of your trip. Also, please leave out your pets leash, bowls, and any cleaning products in case there is a mess that needs attention. If you are a repeat client please be sure to inform your pet sitter of any changes in the health or routine of your pet.
If an emergency should occur your pet sitter will follow the emergency instructions you provided on the service agreement and try to contact you and/or your emergency contact person immediately.
If your pet sitter has an emergency, we will make every effort to contact you for your approval before sending over another qualified pet sitter to take care of your pets. If this is not acceptable you have the right to cancel the current service and make other arrangements. Please keep in mind that all of our pet sitters are trained, insured and bonded.
We will leave a note which summarizes our time spent with your pet and an invoice for our services. We ask that you call us when you return home so we can be certain you have arrived home safely and we no longer need to care for your pet. Delays often happen, therefore we assume that you have not arrived home until we hear from you. We will continue to visit your pet until you confirm that you are home.
There is never a cancellation fee and we are always happy to reschedule a visit.
To ensure availability it is best to contact us as soon as you anticipate you will need our services. If a last minute need arises please do not hesitate to call; we will always try our best to accommodate you.
Clients generally pay for our pet sitting services upon completion. Clients who have paid late in the past may be required to pay up front. We do not accept credit cards, cash or checks only please.
